I spent seven months in Italy after earning my undergraduate degree in Business & Entrepreneurship, so I could pursue my interest in photography on a contract job. This not only satisfied my travel bug but allowed me to realize it's not the direction I wanted to take.

Sport and Outdoor Pursuits have the ability to challenge you in such ways that you find yourself itching for more. A wild ride on the mountain or a battle on the soccer field can replay in your head as you think about what you could have done differently and how you'll improve for next time. Snowboarding has taken me to some of the most spectacular places in the world, in the pursuit of discovery and the ability to shut out everything else.

Being away from the digital world, immersed in the sport and outdoors, allows you to live in the moment and enjoy authentic first-hand experiences.

I've taken the Art & Science I've experienced in sport and let it guide my professional career. This means putting consumers (athletes) first in all product decisions. Working in the industry I participate in has provided an empathetic outlook, putting myself in the end-user shoes with the ability to design with them in mind.

Upon returning to Portland, the software industry was incredibly appealing both from a professional learning experience and lucrative career path. After years of being immersed in software and agile product development, I knew I wanted to build great products but it wasn't the subject matter I wanted my career to focus on. Aligning the adventures and pursuits I loved in life meant leaving a steady job with a great team and earning a Masters of Science in Sport Product Management.

I'm driven by preserving the places we play in, creating better/smarter and understanding the needs of those around me.

Listen. Design. Provide.

The opportunities to grow and learn this industry were abundant and working with RSI (Reliable Source Industrial Inc.), an apparel manufacturer based in Taipei, Taiwan, allowed me to understand the other half of the product creation equation. This program gave me insight and a jump start on how the Sport and Outdoor industry operates. The management and development of tangible product aligns with software product creation. Solving a need, understanding the end-user, sourcing responsibly and bringing performant products to market.
